When a tilt deck fits the equipment
Tilt trailers reduce reliance on separate loading ramps by pivoting the deck. That can simplify repeated loading when the same machines fit the deck width, length, capacity, approach angle, and tilt behavior. It does not remove the need to inspect the surface, align the equipment, follow the operating procedure, and secure the load.

Measure the approach, breakover, and clearance
Low ground clearance, a long wheelbase, attachments, overhang, or a change in slope can cause equipment to contact the loading path. Measure the machine and review the trailer geometry with the dealer. The useful comparison includes:

- wheelbase or track contact length;
- lowest underbody point and attachment clearance;
- deck height, tilt or ramp angle, and transition points;
- available traction in wet, dusty, muddy, or uneven conditions; and
- winch, tie-down, stop, and securement locations.
Do not separate loading style from trailer capacity
